How to get to the Galapagos Islands

There are 2 airlines that fly into Galapagos Baltra Airport (GPS) from the mainland: Tame, Latam, and Avianca. Most flights originate in Quito and stop in Guayaquil to pick up additional passengers. The flight then continues on to Galapagos. All flights to and from Galapagos are during daylight hours.  There are no evening or night flights to and from the Galapagos Islands.

From both Quito and Guayaquil, there are daily flights connecting Ecuador with cities around the world. Direct flights from the US cities of Miami, Houston, Atlanta, and New York arrive every day. From Europe, there are direct flights originating in both Amsterdam and Madrid and other major airports.

Once on mainland Ecuador, passengers carry on to one of two major airports in the Galapagos Islands. The busiest airport in the Galapagos is on Baltra Island. Flights from Quito and Guayaquil fly there every day bringing passengers to the enchanting islands. From the airport in the Galapagos guests use land transportation into town.
